In our March issue, we asked you to tell us about your favourite motorcycle journeys. Thanks for sharing! Here are some of our favourites.
Darren Theriault, Arichat, Nova Scotia
For those riding the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, the hot spot has got to be Isle Madame, which is accessed via a lift bridge at Lennox Passage. Great winding roads follow the shore line through different communities. All amenities are available, including a full-service motorcycle dealer. There are historic sites as well as beaches and picturesque ocean views. A great riding experience!
Gary Clermont, Richmond Hill, Ontario
My favourite ride is to Niagara Falls, with a side trip through Effingham on the Effingham Road near St. Catharines. My next favourite is to take the back roads from Dunedin to Collingwood, past Devil's Elbow ski resort.
Maxim Boudreault, St-Joseph de la rive, Quebec
In the Charlevoix region, I like to take the route along the river, through the back country, then back along Highway 138.
John Cannon, Keswick, Ontario
All riders should definitely check out the south shore of Lake Simcoe. A very slow cruise (less than 40 kph) on Lake Drive puts the shore just under your floorboards. Start at Sibbald Point Provincial Park and ride west. Approximate time: 35 to 40 minutes. Here's a map to help you find your way.
